Inspiration Challenge and Big News From Rubbernecker!!!

Hello everyone!!! Hope you had a great Friday.....I have been stamping all evening...Whoohoo!!! I finished a couple of projects for next week and I actually finished the Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast!!
This week’s inspiration comes from Room Service Home, an on-line retailer offering designer inspired merchandise with a modern flair. I took my inspiration from the Easter Basket Fun section...this adorable Rubbernecker image called Easter Bunny With Hat and Basket was just waiting for me to ink her up!!! I colored her with copics and used my new Stampin Up! dp for the background layers. I did a little sewing around the background layer and the Rubbernecker sentiment was cutout with Nestabilities.

Primas, ribbons, and a button finish it off. The card base is Bashful Blue and the matting is Cameo Coral.

Clear Dollar Stamps Day

Good morning everyone!!! I am having such a lazy day today...haven't even had a shower yet...yikes!!! I really need to get outside and work in the flower gardens...everything is so dead looking....I need to cut off the brown tops and pull weeds so my neighbors quit giving me dirty looks...heeheehe!! If we don't get rain I may not have any flowers to worry about. It seems the country either has floods or drought...no happy medium any more....anyway, on that happy note...let me tell you about my CDS cards.

The Ways to Use It challenge on Splitcoast today is to create using a frugal find. Whether it's something inexpensive or something recycled... find ways to incorporate it into your design. I have a whole box of *stuff* that I hoard...things that come off packages, boxes, and gifts. Today I used a piece of rope like ribbon that was tied around a gift box of Ghirardelli chocolates...tooo yummy for words!!

The Clear Dollar Stamps Sorry Charlie image and sentiment were stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with copics. The background layers were sponged, distressed, doodled, and torn...sounds like I beat the poor thing!! I did add the pearls for a little glam...rustic charm!!

Oh, BTW, Clear Dollar Stamps is looking for a Guest Designer for the month of March...check it out on Lori McCroskey's blog!!

The Wednesday Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast gave me another opportunity to use my Inchies!! Also, it got up in the 80's that day so I needed to work with snowflakes and penguins to cool things off!!
The images from Clear Dollar Stamps Zoo Critters set were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. They were glammed up with a little glitter, cutout and attached to the Inchie from Inchie Art, LLC with glue dots. Snowflakes were sponged on the Inchie using a home made stencil with Soft Sky and punched snowflakes, pearls, and ribbon finish it off.

Thanks for visiting today and I hope you have a great day!!!

Belli Challenge #56 Monograms

Good morning everyone!! It's Wednesday and time for another Belli Challenge!!! This week the focus is on monograms or alphabet stamps. I decided to give a little love to my JustRite monogram set called Special Occasions. The butterfly and flourish stamps are from the Laundry Line set called Lil Girl by My Minds Eye. Both sets were stamped with Lavender Lace, cutout with Nestabilities, layered onto Certainly Celery, Pumpkin Pie, and Lavender Lace cardstock. The lavender and flowered papers were a gift from Michelle Rodgers, owner of Stampers Dream. Thanks, Michelle!!

Primas, Candy Dots, and Stampin Up! ribbon finish it off.

The Belli Challenge was created by Chris (Chrissyd723)Dickinson to inspire us to use the *stuff* lying around our stamping spaces...those long forgotten goodies that we once had to have!! Anyone can play, so get out your scraps, stamps, and embellies!! Check out Chris' blog for details on how to win the challenge!!
Be sure to visit the Belli Design Team Member's blogs to see the beautiful monogram/alphabet cards they designed!! You will find lots of awesome ideas!!! If you upload a card to Splitcoast or PCP, be sure to add CBC56 in the keywords section.

Two Double Dare Challenge Cards

Hello everyone!! I finally got caught up with my Double Dare challenges!!! This week I am the hostess and my challenge is to make a card with a basket and to add some plaid to the design anywhere on the card. I combined this with the color challenge on Splitcoast to use Kiwi Kiss, Pumpkin Pie, and Summer Sun. At first I thought the colors sounded too bright but after working with them this morning, I fell in love with the bright, happy colors!!!

I used the basket of flowers stamp from Heartspeak...stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. I stamped the plaid leaf from the Central Park set on the background white layer but when I put the card together you couldn't see the leaves so I stamped another one, cut it out and attached it under the ribbon. Summer Sun was sponged around the edges of both layers and the card base was run through the Cuttlebug Dotted Swiss folder. The SU ribbon, button, twine, and prima finish it off.

The close up shows the button and flower treatent and the plaid leaf. The colors on the image look a little washed out in the picture but they are much brighter in real life!!

Last weeks Double Dog Dare challenge was hosted by Julia (artystamper) and she provided us with a file of digital images of the cutest little girls of the world. Thanks Julia for a wonderful challenge!!! I chose to use the Indian girl...colored her with copics, cut her out with Nesties, and attached her over the background layer that was stamped with the tepee image from Dream Catchers. Piercing was done across the top of the bottom SU dp layer and brads were added. The twill that matched the Soft Sky cardstock was added and a little distressing was done to the main image and the tepee layer.

If you would like to play along, just pm Julia or me and we will send you the digital images. Everyone is welcome to play....just be sure to add DDC to you upload so we can find you card. You can see all the DDc cards here.

Happy Monday!!!

Hello everyone!! I hope you have had a wonderful Monday!! I stayed up late last night to watch the Acadamy Awards....I just love to see all the gorgeous dressed and jewels!!! I haven't seen any of the movies that won...I'll just have to wait till they come out on DVD's!! Anyway....

The Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast today was to use rubberbands to create a background. The rubberbands were placed on an acrylic block, covered with Versamark, stamped on white cs, embossed with clear ep, and sponged with Lavender Lace, Regal Rose, and Certainly
Celery.

Birthday Wishes images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and the flowers were colored with Regal Rose and Pretty in Pink markers. Primas, Candy Dots, ribbon, and a punched flourish finish it off. The sentiment layers were cutout with Nestabilities and attached with dimensionals.

The Featured Stamper Challenge Sunday was to honor Jami (sgtstamper). She is such a talented lady...she not only stamps beautifully, but she designs stamps and is a fabulous blog designer, too!!! Jami designed my new look......Thanks, Jami!!!

Jami has such a fabulous gallery...wish I could case every card!! When I saw the Somebunny Loves SFYTT card, I know I had to case this one and I wanted to use the adorable Rubbernecker's Grand Bunny Bottoms stamp. I kept the same bunny theme but changed the stamps, colors, layout, and embellies. The bunny image and the sentiment were stamped on Basic Grey Sugared dp with Memento Tuxedo Black .

The bunny tails were covered with pink Flower Soft. The SU scallop punch was used for the scallops at the bottom using SU dp and Candy Dots, ribbon, primas, and a button finish it off.

The background dp is by Imaginisce and I used Pink Pirouette and Ruby Red card stock.

Thanks for visiting....hope you have a wonderful evening!!

Prayers for Linda

Hello everyone...hope you are having a great Saturday!!! I have been a little bummed today.... I got a call from my friend last night to tell me that another friend of ours was diagnosed Friday with cancer. She will have surgery on Monday. My heart goes out to her and her family.....hopefully the surgery will go well and she can regain her strength before she starts her chemo. Anyway...
I made this card to take to her while she is in the hospital. The Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast today was to find inspiration from Flutter ~ an awesome webstore with lots of cool stuff. When I saw this pillow, I knew just what paper and stamps I wanted to use so this card came together in 15 minutes...I think that's a record for me!!! The sentiment from The Clear Dollar Stamps Christian Sympathy set was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa onto vanilla shimmer cs, layered with Chocolate Chip and Mint Melody (yes...I have hoarded Mint Melody for 4 years...yikes!!), and attached to the Making Memories dp with dimensionals. Sheer ribbon, vanilla satin flowers, and mint colored pearls finish it off. Pretty simple but dramatic...hope she likes it!!
Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend!!

2fer Day

Hello everyone!! I got up bright and early to make the Ways To Use It challenge card....the challenge today was to use stripes somewhere on a card. I knew I wanted to use the Sketch Challenge sketch because I didn't have time to stamp yesterday. I also wanted to use the adorable Sorry Charlie image by Clear Dollar Stamps and the cowboy paper by Creative Imaginations. It took me an hour of looking and matching to find the striped paper. I finally looked in my Christmas stash and found the perfect color striped paper from the Wonderland collection by Cosmo Cricket. Charlie was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with Copics. Distressing, sewing, and the twill tape from Taylored Expressions finish it off.

I was playing around with my new Bird on a Branch set yesterday and came up with this card. I have had the paper by Whimsy and Co. for over two years and thought it was about time to use it!! The bird and branch were stamped with Close to Cocoa and the background was sponged with Regal Rose and Bashful Blue. The sweet little Fleurettes were added along with the button. The purple twine and ribbon are from Stamper's Dream.

You really need to check out Michelle's Store...she has lots of new things and her service is fabulous!!! Anyway...

Have a wonderful evening and I will catch you tomorrow!!

Belli Challenge #55 Inchies!!

Good morning everyone and happy hump day!!! Can you believe it's Wednesday already!!??!! I had some time to stamp yesterday and boy did it feel good to make a mess!!! The Belli challenge this week is to use inchies. A few weeks ago my DD Holly and I went to our LSS and found some inchies by Inchie Art, LLC. Their web site is full of products and ideas on how to use inchies.....check it out!!! Anyway, the inchies are museum quality preservation matboard and so easy to color on!!
The Rubbernecker image called Everything Coming Up Carrots, was divided into sections with tape and each image was stamped on an inchie with Memento Tuxedo Black. The images were colored with copics and attached to the black cardstock. The background papers are from Stampin Up! as is the ribbon and the pearls are from Stamper's Dream.

Be sure to visit the Belli Design Team Member's blogs to see the beautiful inchie cards they designed!! You will find lots of awesome ideas!!! If you upload a card to Splitcoast or PCP, be sure to add CBC55 in the keywords section.

Tuesday's Color Challenge on Splitcoast

I made another card for the color challenge using the same Rubbernecker stamp I used for the inchies card...I wanted you to see what it looked like in one piece. I am not very good at watercoloring but for some reason I wanted to give it a shot today. The edges were distressed, SU dp was used for the Top Note, the More Mustard background was stamped with the Print Pattern bg stamp, and the Candy Dots were from Taylored Expressions. The Rubbernecker sentiment was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and cutout with Nestabilities. The punched flourish, punched scallops, and ribbon finish it off.

Thanks so much for coming to see me today...have a wonderful day!!!

Birthdays, Birthdays everywhere!!!

When you have a family as large as ours....5 kids, 4 married with 11 grandkids, parents, brothers and sisters and their families....lots of birthday cards are needed!! I keep telling my DH how much money I am saving him by making the cards.....I just leave out the part about all the *stuff* I buy to make the cards!!! At least I'm not hanging out at the local bar drinking and dancing with strange men....right!!! See, stampers can always justify all the stuff we buy for our addictions!!! Anyway....

The color challenge colors on Splitcoast today are Kiwi Kiss, Rose Red, and More Mustard. When I read what the colors were this morning, I knew right away what stamp I wanted to use!! The Double Dog Dare Challenge for last week (I'm just a little behind!!) was to make a funny card.

I had set out this Inkadinkado image but couldn't seem to find the time...well today's the day and the challenge colors are perfect. The image was stamped twice...both were colored with Kiwi Kiss, one was bugged to add the texture, and attached over the other image with dimensionals. I wasn't going to add the flourish but I smudged the black ink so I needed a little camouflage. The edges of the image layer and the sentiment were sponged with More Mustard and speckles were added with the Itty Bitty Background stamp. Basic Grey Eva Buttons, Kiwi Kiss ribbon, and the Basic Grey Gypsy dp finish it off. You can find the other DDC cards here. If you want to play along, just make a funny card and upload using the key words DDC. Anyone can play and there is no time limit.

This is the card I made for the Featured Stamper challenge Sunday on Splitcoast.
The Featured Stamper was Julie (juliemlacey) and what a fabulous gallery....I love all the awesome layouts and use of color!!! I just fell in love with the Thanks a Hoot card....I kept the wonderful layout but changed the theme, colors, papers, stamps, and added the blue pearls in the corners. The Birthday Wishes images by Clear Dollar Stamps were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black. The cupcakes were colored with copics, cutout, and attached with dimensionals. The paper is called Rustic Charm by KaiserCraft from Stamper's Dream and the ribbon is from Papertey Ink.

The closeup shows the wonderful Clear Dollar Stamps....gotta love those cupcakes!!!
Thanks for visiting today and I hope you have a great day!!!

Nascar Challenge and The February Birthday Party

Good morning everyone!!! It's Sunday morning and all is well....today is the Daytona 500 race and my fellow Dirty Dozen friends Denise (peanutbee) and Dawn (TreasureOiler) who are the biggest racing fans evah, thought it would be fun to make some racing themed cards. They have invited us all to play, too!! If you upload to SCS, be sure to add Nascar1 to the key words so they can find your cards.
I used two retired SU sets, At the Races and To the Finish...stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. I had to place tape over the numbers on the car stamp so I could add Jeff Gordon's number 24 by cutting it out of the EK Success dp. I stamped an extra set of wheel rims, colored them with a metalic silver pen and popped them up on dimensionals. The cardstock is Prismatics Classic Yellow and Twilight Dark. My DS Steve is Jeff Gordon's biggest fan so this card will be saved for his birthday in May. Thanks for the great challenge girlfriends!!

We had our February Birthday party yesterday. Since our family has grown by leaps and bounds, we combine all the birthdays
and anniversarys into a monthly get together. This month was DGS month with
Ryan 8, Gabe 2, and Cody 6. Silly old Grandma forgot to buy candles for the cupcakes DD Holly made so we had to improvise!! I dug out a box of tapered candles, stuck them in the cupcakes and tadaa....kinda wierd but the boys loved it!!

I had to add this picutre of our DGD Caitlyn...she is such a cutie pie and my, oh my, sooo busy!! Here she is playing hide and seek with her Grandpa.
Thanks for visiting today and I hope your Sunday is wonderful!!

Inspiration Challenge

Hello and happy Saturday, everyone!! I have been MIA for a few days...went to Ft. Worth to help a friend who had knee surgery on Tuesday. Everytime we get on I35, I know why I hate to leave the house!!! People drive sooo crazy anymore!! They drive like maniacs...yikes...you would think they had a death wish!!! Anyway....

I had to crack up when I saw the inspiration website for today!! The Artfull Bras Project is an exhibit of forty-nine one-of-a-kind works of art created by the members of Quilters of South Carolina to make the public aware of breast cancer, to memorialize those lost to the disease, and to honor survivors. I won't tell you what my DH said when he first saw the bras....heeheehee!! I had a hard time picking just one but I did narrow it down to the New Life design by Ann Abby. I loved all the springy colors and butterflies!! I used the Calendar Chicks stamp from Stamper's Dream. It was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. Flower Soft was added to the bunny ears and punched butterflies, flourishes, flower brads, prima with button, and ribbon finish it off.

The closeup shows the Flower Soft on the bunny ears....gotta love those sweet little Calendar Chicks!!!
Recipe: Stamps: Calendar Chicks by Stampendous
Paper: Brazzill Scalloped paper, Pretty in Pink, White, Basic Grey's Urban Prairie
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Flower Soft, Copics, Prima with Button, Flourishes Punch, Flower Brads, Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch, Ribbon, Nestabilities, Cuttlebug

Belli #54 - Doilies

Good morning everyone!! Ok, first I want to apoligize for telling you a big story....I told you that I wasn't going to make another Valentine. Well, the Belli challenge this week is to use a doily on a card....since doilies belong on Valentines, I just had to make one more!!! Now, for sure and cross my fingers and hope to swallow a frog if I make another Valentine...this is the very last one till next year!!!!!!

What better image to use for the last Valentine (for sure!!!) than Taylor's sweet little kissing cuppies from her Love is Sweet set!! They were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with copics. I used a dot from a white gel pen to add the highlight on the cheeks.

The paper is from My Minds Eye as are the scallop and the sentiment tag. Baja Breeze, Regal Rose, and Riding Hood Red cardstock was used and heart buttons, doily, and ribbon from Taylored Expressions finish it off.
Be sure to visit the Belli Design Team Member's blogs to see the beautiful doily cards they designed!! You will find lots of awesome ideas!! Remember to check out Chris' blog to see how you can win!! If you upload a card to Splitcoast, be sure to add CBC54 in the keywords section.
Whoohoo!! Welcome to the Belli Challenge ladies...we are sooo glad to have you join our little group!!!
Thanks for visiting today and I hope you have a great day!!!

Easter Greetings!!

Hello everyone!! I hope your Tuesday is going ok...I finally got my hair cut today....yeaaaa!!! I don't know why I waited so long. We are going out to eat tonight for free...got an invite to listen to alternative energy sources along with a meal. I know it's a sales pitch for something...gotta be strong and leave after the meal without buying anything!!! Be strong, be strong, be strong........ anyway....

I love the color combo this week for Splitcoast's color challenge: Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss, Perfect Plum. The flower bouquet image by Rubbernecker was watercolored
using the challenge colors and a frame was sponged around the image with Pink Pirouette. The sentiment also by Rubbernecker, was stamped with Perfect Plum and sponged with Pink Pirouette around the edges, cutout with Nestabilities, and attached with dimensionals.

The new SU scalloped border punch was used on the top Pink Pirouette layer, the ribbon by PTI was frayed on the ends and tied with a piece of embroidery floss, the Martha Stewart punched butterfly was glammed up with tiny bling from Taylored Expressions, pink rhinestones were added to the flower image and at the bottom, and Dazzling Diamonds was added to the main flower.

These colors are sooo perfect for Easter cards....just had to make 2 today!!
I used paper from Papertrey Ink for the background.....this was the digital paper that they offered as a free download last year. I stamped the Rubbernecker script sentiment with Perfect Plum onto vanilla cs and cutout with Nestabilities. I added the sweet little blingies from Taylored Expressions to the Martha Stewart punched butterfly and the punched flower. The Martha Stewart fern punch was used for the greenery and the ribbon came from my scrap basket.
The Rubbernecker Design Team, as always, will delight you with their creations. Be sure to visit their blogs for lots of inspiration!!!

First Easter Card and Last Valentine!

Ya know, I love Valentines but after making over 20 cards, I am ready for Springy and Easter cards!! I am excited, too, because we got a little rain today!!! We are sooo dry here...our pond is lower than it has ever been!! The poor fish are bumping into each other and fighting for space!!
Anyway....

The Technique Lovers Challenge on
Splitcoast is to create a border or other page element by just cutting out part of an embossed design, patterned paper, or a stamped image, and use it as a part of your card. What a great challenge today, Lynn!!! I decided to use this beautiful Northwoods Rubber Stamps image sent to me by Michelle Rodgers from Stamper's Dream...thanks Michelle!!!

The image was embossed with black on white cardstock...I colored it with copics, cut it out around the edges, cutout the black matting along the image lines, and attached to the SU dp layer with dimensionals. Piercing was done around the edges of the background layers. The sentiment is by Rubbernecker Stamps, ribbon from Flourishes, LLC, and pearls from Stamper's Dream.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is the card I made yesterday for the Featured Stamper on Splitcoast who is Karen Dunbrook.
Congrats, Karen!!! What a fabulous gallery full of wonderful designs!! I decided to case the Birthday's Are Fun card. I kept the same layout but changed the stamp set, colors, papers, and made it into a Valentine for one of my DGSs. Trust me, this is the last one for this year!!! The image from Clear Dollar Stamps Zoo Critters was stamped three times with Memento Rich Cocoa onto vanilla cs and colored with copics. Two of the images were cut out and the head and feet were popped up on the middle image. The hearts and ribbon were added and the sentiment says *I'm Wild About You!*
The scalloped *frame* around the image layers was made with Nestabilities. I didn't have any red heart buttons so I sponged Riding Hood Red ink in the buttons and laced them with brown twine. The dp is Dutch Girl by Cosmo Cricket and the cardstock I used includes Close to Cocoa, Riding Hood Red, and Chocolate Chip.
Thanks for visiting today and I hope you have a GREAT Monday!!!
Lots of Goodies Today
Hello everyone!! We just got back from taking my DS and DIL out to lunch for their anniversary. Boy am I stuffed...hope I don't fall asleep before I get finished here!! It's a nice warm day here in Central Texs but the wind is blowing something fierce...wish it would blow in a little rain!!
I am still making Valentines for kids and grandkids. The Limited Supply challenge on Splitcoast today was to use one stamp and it had to be a sentiment stamp. This was perfect for a Valentine using Rubbernecker's semtiment...I just love how pretty this is!! The image was stamped with Bravo Burgundy, embossed with clear ep, cutout with Nestabilities, and attached with dimensionals.
The chipboard hearts were colored with copics and covered with glitter....gotta love that chunky stuff!! The background paper is Baroque Burgundy ( I only have 1 sheet left...yikes!!), Bravo Burgundy, and Pink pirouette. The dp is by My Minds Eye. Ribbon and the pink plastic hearts finish it off.
This is the birthday card I made for my DGS Cody who will be 6 on Feb. 19th. He loves to play ball so I thought this would be perfect with all the different types of balls. I used the retired SU set called Take Me Out to the Ball Game, stamped it with Memento Rich Cocoa onto Bashful Blue and matted with Chocolate Chip. The bat, ball, and large soccer ball were all cutout of the paper and attached with dimensionals. The smaller soccer ball is a brad. A little bit of ribbon and a clip finish it off. Hope he likes it!!
Yesterday's Ways to Use it challenge was to layer embellishments. Whoohooo, right up my alley!! I also combined the challenge with the Tosh's sketch challenge on the CCEE blog and the Doubledog Dare challenge hosted by Anne (Itsapassion). She sent us a package of goodies to use on a design including wallpaper!!
I needed a Sympathy card so I used Clear Dollar Stamps new set called Christian Sympathy. The sentiment was stamped onto Naturals White with Elegant Eggplant and cutout with nesties. The green paper and the stripe behind the sentiment are wallpaper...too cool!!!
I layered the flowers with ribbon, cording, leaves, and a gem from Anne.
Anne said that she went to a wallpaper store and they gave her several outdated books...check out the DDC gallery for the other designer's cards!!
If you would like to play along, just make a card with wallpaper and upload to Splitcoast using the key words DDC. There is no time limit so there is no pressure...only fun!!
If you don't have any wallpaper handy, you can print some off the internet, or even take a picture of your own wallpaper, print off the picture and use that ...be creative!!
